With the growing effect of the middle class and ease of lending standards, there have been many NBFC and microfinance institutions that have come up in order to advance loans to the general customers as well as the business community. In order to make sure that these institutions function well and arrive collectively, there are a number of NBFC and MFI associations that have been initiated for this purpose.

Here is a list of some associations and well-known their activities 1. FIDC :

The association works towards formulate a model of conduct for the finance industry. The association looks to make sure that the strategic and healthy growth of NBFCs in India. It ensures that all the members are participating in function effectively as a part of the financial system. The association also gives to protect customers’ interest and to solve the problems of the members.

2. Association of Gold Loan Companies (India)

The Association of Gold Loan Companies (India) is non-profitable management and was initiated with the purpose to work for the happiness, comfort, and profit of the member companies.

The main intention and goal of this association are to conduct seminars, to collect data, and arrange surveys on the working of Gold loan financing companies in other countries. It presently has 7 members.

3. Association of Digital Lenders(India)

The Association of Digital Lenders in India was initiated in November 2016 with the goal to attract digital lenders and their players under one roof which helps the system to grow and flourish. DLAI is run by a management committee that is elected every year. Its main purpose to develop and support the digital lending industry. It has 9 members of founders and 22 general members.

LIST OF MICROFINANCE ASSOCIATIONS AND NETWORKS 1 – Network of Microfinance Institutions in India

It was orginated in October 2009 to give the information about the key functions of microfinance and financial involvement for all classes of people. It helps inexpensive and poor communities to achieve greater financial independence and build supportable livelihoods. It helps in the development of the strong microfinance sector, by aiming responsible lending, client protection, and a supportive regulatory environment.

2 – Sa-Dhan – The Association of Development of Finance Institutions Community

Sa-Dhan the Association of Development of Finance Institution Community was originated in 1998. Its main goal is to assist its members and associated institutions to give better low-income households. This specially covers women in rural and urban India for creating a stable livelihood and improving the quality of life.

3 – AKMI – MFI’s in Karnataka

The Association of Karnataka MFI’s was originated in 2007. Its main aim is to give better transparency and governance, client protection and ethical practices among the Microfinance Institutions. It has 27 members of MFI as on 31st March 2017. The Association of Karnataka MFI’s was registered under society Act 1960. The principles of this association are Integrity, Fair Practices, Transparency and Quality of Services.

4 – Banking with the Poor Network

The Banking with the Poor Network is Asia’s microfinance network of organizations that originated in 1990. The main goal of BWTP is to provide the quality of life of the poor through assisting and facilitating their access to supportable financial services. They fulfill this assignment through information sharing, knowledge creation, and policy advocacy.

5 – South Asian Microfinance Network

The SAMN was introduced in 2008 and has a primary goal to bring together 8 Micro finance institutes and put together a framework in place for coordinating and enabling regional dialogue between all participating MFIs. These members together provides the business needs of 60 million clients spread in 6 countries in South Asia.

6 – ACCION Network

ACCION recommend financial inclusion at all levels. Their goal to let the financial deserving get a chance to have a suitable livelihood. They perform all the various functions like advisory services (combining tech with Microfinance frameworks), investment (the companies that drive microfinance to reach more number of deserving customers), partnership (to develop new markets for microfinance penetration) and thought leadership activities.

7 – India Collective for Microfinance

The ICMF is a national-level network introduced to arrange the activities in the field of microfinance. All participants from governmental, non-government, banks, donor agencies, and research agencies come together with one goal – to alleviate poverty with the use of microfinance to help poor people get access to credit. It takes steps to remove obstacles that come in the way of meeting these objectives.

8 – International Network of Alternative Financial Institutions

INAFI supports the endeavors of microfinance companies started in Asia, Latin America, Africa, and Eastern Europe. It has 150 member management covers four continents. All members are in the microfinance domain – i.e. giving financial services to the poor. It provides self-regulated and affordable microfinance to the poor so that they can get access to credit for getting the livelihood. International Network of Alternative Financial Institutions members’ common goal is to make a contribution towards the elimination of poverty. It has the goal to do this by giving efficient credit, savings, and capacity/skill-building services to deserving people, especially women.
